Physical Therapy

Physical TherapyThrough Physical Therapy, we concentrate on injury prevention during treatment.

At Synergy Rehab and Wellness, our staff will restore strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and function following injury, surgery or illness.  All of our programs emphasize alleviating current dysfunction, pain or deficits.  Our goal is providing patient and caregivers with information regarding their injury process to prevent future problems. Our physical therapists are equipped with the knowledge and skills in the most current techniques.

Synergy Rehab and Wellness has a tradition of providing high-quality care for patients with orthopedic, arthritic, or athletic injury problems.  Our clinic provides:

  • Evaluation and treatment of soft tissue injuries to the spine and peripheral joints
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation utilizing state-of-the-art techniques and equipment
  • Patient education and home exercise programs
  • Manual therapy, mechanical treatments, and various modalities are available

We also specialize in the following services and programs:

Vestibular Rehabilitation

If you experience dizziness, vertigo, lightheadedness, loss of balance, giddiness or loss of equilibrium, then you need to see us!  Symptoms of pressure or fullness in the ear, blurred vision with movement and balance problems combined with unsteadiness indicate the need for an evaluation from our physical therapists, who specialize in vestibular rehabilitation.  Our certified Vestibular Therapists will perform a complete evaluation, which includes the observation of posture, balance, movement and compensation strategies to come to a conclusion about the course of treatment for you.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a technique using fine needles to release myofascial trigger points, requiring specific training and certification.

Orthopedic and Sports Injury Rehabilitation

We have a long tradition of providing high-quality care for patients with orthopedic, arthritic, or athletic injury problems.  Our outpatient clinic provides evaluation and treatment of soft tissue injuries to the spine and peripheral joints; post-surgical rehabilitation utilizing state the art techniques and equipment; patient education and home exercise programs.  Manual therapy, mechanical treatments, and various modalities are also available.

Neurological Dysfunction Rehabilitation

We specialize in post stroke rehabilitation, amputation rehabilitation, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons Disease, Muscular Dystrophy, peripheral neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease, head and spinal cord rehabilitation and community education programs.

Back and Spine Injury Rehabilitation

We have experience treating a variety of back and spine conditions ranging from spinal stenosis or sciatica to traumatic injury.  All of our clinicians are comfortable conducting assessments and addressing a range of back and spine issues.

Balance and Fall Prevention Programs

We conduct computerized equilibrium tests to evaluate the sensory and motor parts of your balance system.  Remember, loss of balance and mobility are NOT inevitable as you grow older.  Sudden falls in older individuals are of great concern since the incidence of balance problems is known to increase significantly with age.  We can help you improve your balance!

There are two major schools of outpatient PT treatment: Manual therapy vs. exercise focused care. Much of the pain and limitation you are experiencing is coming from changes to the joints and surrounding tissues that only doing exercises will not correct. Skilled manual therapy interventions can be the key to your quickest and most complete recovery.

Our therapists are each expertly trained manual therapists in a variety of different approaches including manipulation, mobilization, muscle energy, strain-counterstrain, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, myofascial release, instrumented soft tissue release, dry needling, Mulligan and McKenzie approaches among others. The breadth of training of our Doctors of Physical Therapy means that if one approach is not working, we have many more options to try. There is no “one trick pony” at Synergy. We are problem solvers who love to try a variety of approaches to resolve your pain and get you back to the life you want to live.

If you want to regain your health, it is not a passive path. You have to be proactive and determined that you will regain what you have given up for the sake of helping others, and it is your turn to focus on regaining the quality of life you deserve. We are your best advocates and want this for you as much as you want it for yourself. There is nothing that gives us more satisfaction than to help someone who is motivated and willing to work to change their lives for the better. You can do it! –and we can help!
